Andy Malone - Editor Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I saw the news this morning and couldn't believe it. Very sad and so young. RIP Sabine. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 How dreadfully sad, how dreadfully unfair. 😥 Thanks for everything Sabine. 🏁 Oh... and f**k you, cancer. 🖕🤬 3 Quote
CraigHew Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 A long battle suggests she's been ill for a while. She must have hidden it well.... She was a superb driver..... Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 It's true, I've followed some of her statements and the reports since last year; it didn't sound hopeful, must admit everytime I've seen her photo recently, I've read the details with a feeling of dread in case it was her time. Today it finally was, the race is run and she's pulled into parc ferme one final time. A sad, sad loss. Quote
Nic Chase (NICO) - Shropshire & Mid-Wales AO Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Very sad news. Taken too soon. I loved her on Top Gear showing the boys how it’s done. Rip. Quote
jeff oakley Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Very sad news indeed. Cancer does not discriminate on who it affects and this has been going on for some time sadly for her. It does seem so unfair when someone so full of life energy and fun is cut down before their time. Sometimes we have to focus on here and now as no one knows what is pre ordained for us. 1 Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Sad indeed. She revealed her illness in 2017 IIRC, and most recently that her short period of remission had ended with a nasty aggressive recurrence. Which sort of cancer she had I don't know, but it must have been a particularly tenacious kind. R.I.P.Sabine Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Very sad news, she was an absolute nutcase, and what a driver, what a girl 🥰 RIP Sabine Quote

Captain Colonial Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 Just found this unreal video - starting from near the back of the pack on a rolling start of a race on a rainy day at the Nurburgring and driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R, how many similar class cars could she pass in one lap? If you guessed 39 with a minute and a half to spare, you win... and she was 45 years old at the time. 🥰 2 1 Quote
