I used to play f1 on the play station back in 95 ish with Murray commentating with all the classic lines, when you hit the barriers he'd say he must have hit the barrier there ,class.

I had no idea he had done gaming stuff as well, I did have a brief spell with Colin McRae Rally with his commentary, but back in those days rallying was my bag rather than F1. Thanks for enlightening me.

Oh and thanks to @cast iron for starting the thread, we lost a legend today.

To be honest he was crap. A legend for that reason alone.

97 that's a good number, Godspeed Murry my man.

But always had good things to say about everyone... whatever his personal views.

Happy memories.... like many of us, if he introduced  me to  motorsport and made it entertaining

He was the only commentator whom you knew was not there because he was being paid to be there. Given the chance he'd have been there anyway! There are few people I would say this about but if the world were made of Murray Walkers it would be a far better place. R.I.P. Murray old bean. :(

My son met him and said he was as nice in real life as he appeared on the tv.
A thoroughly genuine bloke and there are not many of them around.
Rip old chap.

With all the Murray links appearing here is one which shows his enthusiasm and worth watching as it was the championship at stake. This from an era where manufacturers really raced in a diverse series.
