Dommo
It's time to focus on the rotary swap for the Westfield and for that I need a donor, which unfortunately means the current RX-8 has to go. I've never been in the position of intentionally swapping a great example for a ropey one before, that's usually done by accident. Quite easily the best road car I've owned, the Prodrive designed suspension is a great match for the British roads or what's left of the roads. It's somehow eager and responsive yet somehow calm and relaxing at the same time. I'd say it's dark magic but I've checked the shocks and they're yellow, not dark at all. The car has covered 91k miles and was subject to a full engine rebuild ~8k miles ago. This was warrantied and serviced accordingly, though the warranty has since expired with no cause for concern at any point. It's just had and passed an engine inspection along with the routine oil change. Other points... the RX-8 is quite sensitive to tyres so I've sat it on a brand new set of Avons as recommended on the owners club. In the limited amounts I've driven it since, they've been great on the car though the dealer that sold it did fit a set of budget tyres so wasn't too difficult to improve! It's also had a new set of brakes and an air con service (including leak test). More recent pictures below, but quite a bit greyer A pre May 2nd Deal Because I'm better at buying cars than selling them, I've overshot the space on my driveway. By 2 cars from May 2nd. Thus, if this is gone before then, I'll save on storage fees for the additional cars. I'll not have to start a new insurance policy, I'll not be taxing this for another month and I'll also not have to venture out and retake the photos in the sunshine! Happy to pass that saving (plus a little bit more) on and let it go for £2,950. Original price was £3,250 which was already a bit cheap for a PZ model particularly in this condition. Dommo
Quick bump, sale of this has fallen through. This is fate of course, as since putting this car up for sale I've bought two more cars and ran out of space some time ago 😄 Rebuild was 8k ago rather than 12k ago, compression test has shown even numbers across all 6 faces. Fresh service, aside from the fact I've not cleaned it, it's ready to go. Take it away before 2nd May and I'll take £2,950 which is a bit of a bargain, but means I don't have to renew storage fees and mess around with insurance so has benefits for me too. Dommo
Updated the original post with more details and lovely rainy photos. At least the drive to the location was worth it!
Dommo
Little bump, not that I'm expecting it to sell on here given we already have fun weekend cars! If it doesn't sell this weekend it's going into storage, where it will become a genuine barn find and will pop many zeros onto the price. Think that's how it works.
