Covid- we are not quite done with it

Dear All

The weather recently has been lovely, spring days and it would be lovely to go out for a drive in our Westfields.

However- we are still in a lockdown, so this means only essential journeys. Westfield cars are more likely to attract attention and the last thing you want to see is a pair of blue flashing lights in the mirrors.

It wont be long before we can go out, lawfully and meet other club members, so please, for the time being, stick to the govt rules, stay safe and be patient.

Better days WILL soon be with us.

Thank you

Ian

I'm sorry but is this really necessary? We have it drilled Into us on the news, the radio, Bill boards, TV ads newspapers........

We aren't children. We know the script by now.

If your making an essential journey using a Westfield is absolutely no different to using any other vehicle.

I agree with the sentiment but this place is a sanctuary away from all the covid crap. We don't need yet another outlet for the advice.

As a member of WSCC we all have a responsibility to ensure that we follow the rules.
This is a gentle reminder. Sorry if you dont like it, but sometimes the basics need refreshing.

No this is just a thinly veiled dig at an earlier post.

Can you please point out the rules that state what type of vehicles are allowed for essential journeys? As I've not seen any?

Steve, this is not a dig at any post. I am point out this because several people who are members of a number of Severn type car clubs seem to be under the impression that covid has ended and because it has been nice weather recently, have decided to flout the rules, or at the very least, bend the rules.

As an officer of this club, I am politely reminding our members and Area Organisers of their responsibilities and not to bring the club into any disrepute or open themselves to any challenges.

I hope you agree with me that this is a good idea.

Actually,  Steve's post is a valid one.

The Westy is the only car I own, and as far as Gov rules permit I can use it for essential purposes.

I am happy to be corrected if anyone knows better.

Richard.

No I'm sorry I don't.

If I'm doing 200mile Road trips waving wscc banners then yes I'd agree. People driving their cars for essential purposes that may also bring a rare smile to their faces after a winter of lockdown does not in any way shape or form bring this club into disrepute.

I don't think it's within your remit as an AO rep to tell people what they can and can't do.

Steve

I am not telling you what you can and cannot do. I am asking everyone to follow the rules.

Now this thread will be locked to save any future arguements.
