Hi Jason,

Welcome to the club.

If you don't get any better offers, I have a SE bonnet ( narrow body) but it will need some work to be right. It blew off the car some years ago and cracked all the gelcoat suface, no tears or anything just gelcoat damage. Also a hole in the side for crossflow airfilters. It's in the loft at the moment, but I can if you want take some photos.

Forgot to mention, it's the high line one.

Moved 👍

In terms of bonnets I can’t see an SE being any different to an SEi as they are both narrow body cars aren’t they?

Thanks for moving Chris, I added the SE bit in case jason has the SEiw and forgot the W, and yes as far as I know they are the same .

Good call 👍

@mowerracer74 if it was a typo you will need to know if you have kit or zk bodywork as the “swage lines” and nose cone fit are different.

I’m no expert on older models but would expect if it’s an SEi then it’s a narrow hi-line bonnet (but happy to be corrected!)

Gents, i believe it is an SEi but have no idea what the difference would be to an SE, definetly not a wide body. Yes please some pics would be great, i'd need to paint it anyway so some minor repairs would be fine!!

OK will do that tomorrow, would have been today but got carried away fitting wheels most of the day.

As far as I know there is no difference in bodywork ( and if there is someone will be along to correct me) between the SE and SEi - other than some early SE's being the Hi or Low line.

There is a great thread here started some years ago, and would be worth reading

Will post pics tomorrow.

Richard.

To my knowledge the difference is the “i” - and I’m not taking the pee!

It stands for “independent” - as in suspension. So the rear part of the chassis is different to accommodate the independent suspension, but bodywork (and pretty much much everything else) should be the same.

We also have SEW (wide live axle) and SEiW (wide independent)

All recent cars, regardless of engine, are SEiW’s.

Here endeth today’s lesson 😁

That's as I understand it also, thanks Chris.😉

OK here is the bonnet, I have the catches as well somewhere. If you want it, I have no clue as to how we transport it. I had some swept wings shipped late last year and the postage was half the cost of the wings !. Unless you wait till lockdown ends and collect?.

Tried to photo the cracks, my camera is rubbish but I hope you can see them, I am sure someone with Fibreglass experience would sort it out. PM me if you want my address. I have no clue as to a price either, so make an offer and see where we get to.

Richard.
