Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Yes, fantastic news, we will defo be going here. It is £15 entry fee to the exhibition or £49 if you want to drive one of their classic cars. And yes @RobH72 if you have spare pennies left afterwards you can pop next door for a small large gin. 2 Quote
SootySport Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 What a great idea ‘Drive Your Dads Car’ is, I would have a drive in the Austin Princess. Quote

It was an Austin Maxi - awful thing other than the back seats folded flat to make it ( in theory) a perfect shagginwaggon. Sadly the “dad’s car” looks of the thing proved to be less of a draw to any young lady at the time 🙄 edit: especially when I had one mate driving an MGB and another in a Datsun 240Z. Luckily I also had a motorbike that did the trick though 😁 1 Quote
Simon Marks - North Oxfordshire AO Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Mark Two Humber Sceptre for me. I was taught to drive in that car as well. 1725cc and a row of round white on black Jaeger instruments. A nice old car with overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear to make long journeys quite civilised. Quote
neptune Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Great to see their plans back on track. So many drives to choose from, I may be a regular ! Quote
MJWatson Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 (edited) Thanks to the organizers for the fact that you can and the idea to drive classic British cars. Super itinerary for the trip, loved it. Hopefully, more pandemics will not interfere with the organization of such events. Made a lot of discoveries for me in the car museum. Will go on many more trips, want to drive different models of cars. Perhaps I will buy a classic car. I would like to have more of these trips throughout Europe. Thank you all good luck.
