Bananaman
Planning on going down to Deemon Theives this afternoon for a Quick Lift Jack. They seem to do 3 types/size 1. Short £82 2. Long £87 3. Long Saloon £110 Any idea if No.2 would be stong enough for a 600kg car? Andy

peterg
Bananaman, either 1 or 2 will do the job but 2 is more adaptable due to its extra length as you have a choice of positions then...

Bananaman
Hi Thanks for info. I went to DT last night & got the long jack listed at £87 in the Catalog, they then produced a bill for over £102.22. 'WHAT !!!!!!' i said. 'VAT' he said. 'WHERE' i said. 'THERE IN SMALL PRINT' he said. 'YOUR JOKING' i said. In the end he let me have it for £74.70 + VAT = £87.77 So beware the Red (I think) catalog is Exc VAT
DickieB
DT catalogue is always "plus VAT" Personally I went for 2 lumps of wood that I drive the car on to, and then use my standard hydraluic jack bought for £20. Richard Brown
brianm
Substantial (2 ton) jack available from Machine mart with min 110mm max 405mm lift height. Will do for me so bought one today, £29+, inc the dreaded. Incidentally if you want to pay more, , they do a very nice 500kg lifter, originally desigd for mc's, but will work a treat under the A*** end/ front end of a Westy about £105 Top tip, if you've used Machine Mart before, then you get a voucher every now and then for zero VAT on their own brand stuff, worth waiting for Brian.
