Man On The Clapham Omnibus
Why would a supermarket stock what is patently obviously a Christmas orientated product with a Best Before date that expires before Christmas?
TAFKARM
Because you still bought it, so why increase costs by ensuring the best before dates are all after Christmas?
Man On The Clapham Omnibus
Actually I didn't buy it but my daughter did. She put together a hamper of dairy free things for my wife who has a dairy intolerance. I assume that she didn't notice the short date. As it happens it tastes fine, but the illogic of even offering it for sale as a Yule Log that shouldn't be eaten at Yuletide beats me. corsechris
Because Christmas seems to start around mid-November these days?

Mighty Mart
On a similar vein from Tescos..... Tried to order my fresh Turkey this year at my local tescos customer services end of November like I usually do....sorry sir, no in store pickups due to covid and you have to order on line for click and collect or home delivery..... Fine, went home and tried.....all slots taken from 15th December onwards for both click and collect and home delivery.....went back to customer services and asked how they intended to sell all their fresh turkeys that become available from 22 December when they have no facility in place..... They made a quick phone call to confirm what I was saying was correct, and then said they would be put out on the shelves for a good old fashioned covid bun fight goodness me. .... Ended up getting a fresh turkey off the shelf as above though and tbh it's probably the best one we've ever had! Mart.

Been buying Tesco's "Finest" Turkey Crowns for over a decade now. Every single one has been absolutely brilliant. Follow the cooking instructions to the letter, test correctly at the end of the cooking time, rest for 20 mins or so whilst the veggies are cooking and serve. If I can turn out a decent roast turkey dinner like that then anyone can
pistonbroke
Next door neighbour was "resting the turkey" on the kitchen table , ( Ooo! mother, no pun intended) There Labrador dog decided to check it out . What he didnt eat he buried in the garden for afters ! Not sure if it was Tesco or Asda , didnt seem to matter much in the end
