Random "help me buy a...."

I've been tasked with finding a hoverboard for our daughter for Christmas (yes I know I said the C word in November, ban me now) 

 

Now I thought this craze had passed but apparently not, anyhow it has wheels and a motor so I approve. 

 

Anyone bought one? Any recommendations?

 

They're all chinesium but some claim samsung battery packs and the like. Argos ones claim 30 mins run time others on amazon claim 2 hours. Just after one that has decent run time and not setting on fire would be a bonus too.

There's easier way's of burning your house down. I strongly suggest if you do buy one, only charge it when you're in and can keep an eye on it. I've read too many stories of these catching fire. Thought from your comment above, I suspect you're well aware!

Yep cheers Ian. I never leave anything on charge where I can't keep an eye on it. I don't even leave the car battery charger on maintenance unattended as I I've seen first hand what can happen when a battery can go tits up. 

 

As far as I can make out it was a batch of these when they first came out that were the issue. Not much reported recently. It was this reason I was drawn to a big UK retailer such as argos rather than an unknown selling through amazon.

We brought one from here a couple of years ago & haven’t had any problems. And my son breaks everything!
