I was browsing some old threads a while back and came across a motorsport book recommendation "Touch Wood" charting the life and exploits of Duncan Hamilton, British racing driver of the 50s.

What a superb book. What an astonishing life.

Well worth downloading and reading.

Thanks for the heads up, just ordered a copy.

I used to ogle at his classic car showroom in Bagshot in the 1980's when I lived near there.

A true legend.

Amazing character , some of his stories when he drove his Dtype jag to races across europe would make the modern day H&S campainers cringe .

I had his book in paperback form , lent it to someone years ago , if you happen to read this ( you know who you are ) I want it back !

Yeah an absolutely brilliant book if you look on YouTube you can find Duncan Hamilton telling some of the stories from the book in a Interview
