Did you post this to 'Flying Lizards' originally???

.... then deleted it 😁😄😃😀😅🤣

Yes you got me. Wasn't until I got to the quote from the guy that I realised it was the wrong band 🙂 So it was quite fortuitous when @OldStagerfollowed up with the right one!

Honestly though - it was up for about 30 seconds. You can't get away with owt on t'internet these days...... 😛

There's strings in this. And lots more. One of my favourite ever songs.

This version was recorded last year during lockdown and is a distanced version.

RIP John Miles.

Thanks Richard. I only discovered this version after he died sadly.

Even at 71 years old, he could still belt it out!

he could, one of the youtube suggestions was an hour long concert he did a few years ago, it was full of covers - queen, def leppard, huey lewis and the news to name a few, there wasn't a duff track among them, sad loss indeed.

I saw him play in that touring Night of the Proms show.  Twice at Rotterdam Ahoy; lastly 2011 I think. I was on  corporate entertainment duties. He was musical director of the show so was on stage most if not all the time. One was headlined by Seal, the other by Roger Daltrey. Great shows
