Cold Turkey didn’t work!

It’s only been a week since I waved good buy to the Westie, I had to fill my toy shaped hole! (Ooh err missus).

Negotiations on Tuesday, offer accepted Wednesday, pick up today! Needs a little tlc and a once over as it’s been standing a while SORN. Poor young lad was devastated watching me load it up, Even turning to his mother and saying “I’m really going to miss it” numerous times, however his new baby seems to be calling the shots 😀

Wouldn’t be ready for Knockhill so pleased the last space has just gone today. I might even get out for a blat with the lads now 😁

Good choice, I bought one, the same age about 5 years back. Got it for a pittance off my neighbour who needed the money to tour Australia for a year.

mine had 170k in the clock, I did the barest minimum to run it for the 4 years I had it then got rid last year only because it needed rather a lot of work by then.

they’re pretty bomb proof since they’re essentially a VW golf under the skin but they do have their niggles like any car if that age.  I had to do a Haldex oil change, fix the window roll up and then the courtesy light which links in with the central locking but all we’re relatively easy fixes.  It was when the bill came in for shocjs and driveshafts that’s I finally decided to cut my losses.

this ones been a bit tuned and had coil overs so I’m hoping minimal trouble! I was a bit concerned at cable ties instead of jubilee clips...........

Have I missed the build thread? Need more pics.

Is it a 180 or a 225?

Not the sort of car for trackdays as they are heavy and good for loads of understeer.    It’ll cost a fortune to make a good trackcar out of it and rid the understeer.

On the other hand they are terrific road cars and grip in all weather conditions, you always feel safe in them.

Any car is a good track car if you drive around it’s faults...I had a great time at Cadwell chasing a 180 TT

What’s wrong with you, you should breeze past a TT in a Westfield easily😃.

Yes of course any car can be used on a track but you do get tired of its failings after a while. I’ve had a few track cars that were not up to it, mainly too heavy and brakes Being cooked,  not good when you have to drive it home.

He was in a Lionel - but that TT wasn’t keen on moving over to let people past!
