Various companies around to rebuild them. Or do you want a second-hand one? They are becoming a bit scarce in good order because so many kit cars use them, and Ford haven't used them for a good many years now. So whatever you do, don't scrap yours, it still has some value to anyone wanting one for a re-build/upgrade.

Hi, I have a spare type 9 for sale for collection only if you are still wanting one. Available from Derbyshire.

I finally decided on doing things properly as I didn't want to take the engine out again!

I ordered a heavy duty quaife straight cut from west wales rally spares

and a sbd heavy duty clutch cover and kevla plate and new release bearing.

Cars back together and working great.

Gearbox noise is fantastic makes the car such an event, the long 1st gear and the ratios have transformed my old redtop.

Getting rid of the paddle clutch which was like a switch and horrible to drive on the road was a good move.

Loving my machine now20200818_171352.thumb.jpg.df8759ab01c887ddb65c8babb21438d2.jpg

Brilliant job.

I think I may have to go the quaife type 9 route soon as an engine upgrade is on the horizon and my car has the narrow tunnel.

I'll have to speak to the bank manager. 😄

Which box did you go for? Any idea of max torque / power.?

Hi ....I went for the heavy duty one which should be ok for 250bhp, my car runs 227bhp.

The guy previous to me ran the old std one for 12 yrs with no trouble.

He only done 4k miles in that time 😆
