ROC Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Nowt to do with me but in case anyone is interested a guy is selling this engine on ebay starting on £200. It is in the cars, parts by brand section. Don't know how to put links in posts Cheers, Rich.

ROC Posted January 21, 2004 Author Posted January 21, 2004 Blatman, How do you just put the title in as a link, when I try to copy and paste I seem to have to select all, then copy and paste which puts the whole page on - help!! Cheers, Rich.
Blatman Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 By not using the Edit function........ Drag the cursor over the address bar (the addres bar is where you type www. etc etc.) When the writing in the address bar is all highlighted blue, with the mouse pointer still over the url, right click, select copy. Then open a reply/post box, type what you want, then when you want to put the url in, right click, and select paste. Voila..... To make a fancy url like I often do like this: E-bay linky thingy Copy the url as per the instruction, and start typing a reply. When you want to put in the fancy stuff, click the box that says "http://" (It's above every reply box). A new, small box will open. Click in the space for the url, then right click, and paste. The url should now be in the box. Click OK. A second box will open. Type whatever you want in here. This is what will be underlined in your reply. Anyone reading your reply can then click on what you've written, and it'llopem whatever web page you've "pointed" to........ It's also *a lot* easier to do than to type.......
Matt Seabrook Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Thank you kind sir, you are a gentleman You surely don’t know him
adhawkins Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Right, that's it. I'm on strike. I posted a very similar tutorial only a week or two ago (in this thread), and nobody bothered thanking me Andy
Blatman Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 You need to read wot you wrote, 'cos it's wrong..... That might have something to do with it....... Oh, and how can anyone on only 2000odd posts possibly feel the need to go on strike.......
adhawkins Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Umm...which bit is wrong? Is it cos I missed out pressing Ok at step 8? Or something else? Please help a poor computer illiterate. As for having 'only' 2000 odd posts, I've long since given up catching you Andy
Blatman Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 You've got the url/text dialogue box instruction backwards....... Enter some text in the first box (that's the bit that will be underlined in the post) and paste the URL into the second box. See..... Now, let me see. On line troubleshooting/tutorial @ £75 p/h, or part thereof, + tip = er....... a TVR.... (Virtual) Taxi for Blatters, IT consultant and all around Gent.....apparently......
adhawkins Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Aha, but if you look at the 'step by step' instructions (bottom of the first page) I think they're right. No? Anyway, don't think that was necessarily the problem . I've edited the two posts that had the order wrong in case anyone is dumb enough to trust my advice in the future . Oh, and I think your taxi is outside. Andy
