bootleboy Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Right then, here we go - stupid question time.... Im not going to ask what oil i should use for my Xflow/Type 9 combo Ive read the other posts, so ive gathered that one. Its worse than that im afraid! How do i check the gearbox fluid level, and how do i top it up if ness? I still dont seem to be able to grasp the search facility, im afraid I can draw anything you want using any CAD package, but i cant use this bl**** search thingy!! Go figure! Quote
Mark Stanton Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 I can draw anything you want using any CAD package And me On the side of your gearbox you'll find a drain / filler plug passenger side, make sure car and box are level Put some newspaper or oil tray under it and unscrew it, if oil comes out, it don't need filling up, put the plug back in quick and walk away If no oil, then top it up, most gearbox oli bottles come with with a plastic tube squeeze bottle and pump some more oil in, until it starts to flow out, screw in plug PDQ. Then clean up the oily mess from your garage floor tis a messy job Quote
bootleboy Posted January 20, 2004 Author Posted January 20, 2004 Thanks Mark Advice appreciated Ok, so you know how to use a CAD package - b*******! I just need to figure this search from, to, and newer, older business!! Thanks again ian Quote
Mark Stanton Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 I just need to figure this search from, to, and newer, older business!! Keep trying - its so much easier and glitch free than AutoCad R13 ever was Quote
bootleboy Posted January 20, 2004 Author Posted January 20, 2004 Was that the DOS based one? I was dragged up on R14 & LT98 im afraid - still my preferred version TBH! Tend to use Solid Works nowdays though. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 R13 was windows based the swap over from dos to windows was around R12 time fully Can't say I'm tooo fond of any LT version too much stuff missing especially the layer control stuff in the "bonus" package R2002 and R2004 are cookin I'll get me anorak Quote
Sheepy Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 I didn't like R13 when it came out, too many icons to press and wasn't allowed to type the commands as I was originally taught to ! My boss made me sit on my left hand so that i wouldn't be tempted to type !! Sheepy Quote
