Whatever you decide good luck on choosing your weapon. That lump from my K1600 would be interesting, straight 6 1649cc 160bhp, sequential box, shaftie and light. Might be very tall for a Westy - most bike engines are once you factor in the induction. Plus you have to deal with the g-forces when cornering that can cause oil starvation. Otherwise a light inline 6 with a sequential box sounds like a peach!
SootySport
A six cylinder bike engine😀 don't think that's been done before. Whip out the engine and measure the height,, you never know, it might fit.
Pooh
Unfortunately not in a state to whip out much just now, let alone the bike engine. Copart have the bike now so guess they’ll part it out. Guess it would be challenging with all the electronics as well. Basically had an I-Drive system like you get on BMW cars but controlled through a rather clever set of handle bar controls. Controlled engine mode, suspension, cruise control, audio, heated grips, heated seat ( you might laugh but you don’t when it’s snowing up the grand St. Bernard pass i can assure you ) alarm, etc, etc. I’d hate to try and figure out how to start stripping all the unused bits out of the software so that the management system would play ball. However I do like the look of the VTech S2000 based Westies from what little I’ve seen so far. so here’s my first question. Do people fit sequential boxes to their Westies or can you even get a flappy paddle setup. I’ve driven an Ariel Atom with a flappy paddle box and it was seriously quick on a track. Morley
Welcome along My westie is a BEC megabusa 155bhp at back wheel, don't have flappy paddles but drives great.

But you are talking a lot of money. Maybe £5-6k for car engine sequential and £8-10k for flappy paddle version? (Guessing!)

I've often wondered if a Honda Goldwing engine would be suitable? flat 6 pot in line.. maybe even a reverse gear? Don't think they're hugely powerful .. but.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-HONDA-GOLDWING-1500-A-SE-COMPLETE-ENGINE-SC22E-2100372-/401621667594
Terry Everall
The most popular bike engined cars are Hayabusa powered and Honda CBR1000RR. My CBR 1000 sprint car has paddle s and flat shifter and latest engine has in excess of 190bhp at rear wheels so its a bit quick. I used to have a 1300cc, 1400cc and 1548cc powered Hayabusa car which was road legal and it was excellent on track but a bit manic on the road. There is a Westfield out there for you so enjoy looking and researching.
Howsafe Workwear and Safety Equipment
welcome aboard 👍 As there's not much going on at the moment event wise it might be worth a ride over to Toybox cars as they will no doubt have a selection of cars to look at and will give you a starting point
Mighty Mart
Welcome mate - sorry to see the bike, but glad your OK! The sky is the limit with Westfields - you can have serious fun on a tight budget or spend 4 - 5 times more, tailoring the car to what you want. As above, Car or Bike engine, stripped right out for rack only, road & track, road and occasional track, or touring - huge variety of specs and set up available. TBH you seem a perfect fit - handy with the spanner and a biker too - IMHO you NEED to drive a Westfield like you ride a bike, because a lot of car drivers dont seem to know you are there half the time - that's with lights on too.... Its a brilliant club here mate with loads of info and people only too willing to help. Get a long to a meet local to you as soon as they are back on, and that will give you a taste of whats available and probably one or two passenger rides too... Good luck, Mart. Hi @Pooh welcome from another ex-biker and yes I did know Ian, Sue and I had some good Westfield days out with him and Pat. As has been said already it is very worthwhile trying to get to Area meets if you can or any gatherings posted on here. I often visit Daventry, sometimes in the Westfield, so could arrange a meet in the future, Covid permitting and when my car is fixed! Trying to get an idea of range if touring. Edited June 21, 2020 by Pooh

Depends on lots of things tank size, which engine and how you press the loud pedal 😁 My Zetec with a 28/30 ish litre tank with do around 140 miles before getting worryingly low - a bit more on longer tours, a hell of a lot less on track days!
