Howsafe Workwear and Safety Equipment Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Hi all Thought I would share my project I have been working on recently - it's a late 50's petrol pump which I sourced locally and know where it served its time The one on the right is mine - it was really rough but after some work it's coming back to life - it was way beyond a gentle restoration and has need some welding. Going to upload some photos to update you on the progress... 4 Quote
Howsafe Workwear and Safety Equipment Posted June 4, 2020 Author Posted June 4, 2020 at this point everything is being flatted off ready for the paint that arrived yesterday - I had a go on a panel with spray tins (some 2k non iso product) but didnt find it any good for larger areas. 1 Quote

If there’s anyone in Cambridgeshire that knows about welding, it’s you... and speaking of welding, still got the Spyder? 😛 😄 1 Quote
geoffd Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 That's a great project. I've not seen the insides of a petrol pump before. What are you going to dispense from it when it's finished? Geoff Quote
Nic Chase (NICO) - Shropshire & Mid-Wales AO Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Top work Clark. A project from you is well overdue. Fascinating to see the insides of a proper petrol pump. Did somebody say Spyder........ Quote

Geoff thanks Geoff - I was going to hinge one of the doors and use it for storage but decided not too - the front/rear panels come off really easily so I may use it for storing my camera gear in Quote

Spyder is still sat at work - retirement project maybe Must admit I am enjoying the smaller projects - I have restored all sorts of bits and pieces over the last few years from old lamps to radios to a time recorder clock Quote
