mikew123
We had to replace the nose cone on our yellow ZK bodied car last year. Westfield said that it was not possible to match the colour due to the changes in how gel coat is made up now. They had one built, after us giving them a piece of bodywork that had been removed when I fitted flared side panels and said that indoors it was a good colour match, but outside looked totally different. In the end we went for black, that worked very well. Also, the top section had a piece of core mat bonded in. According to Mark this was because due to the lead and cadmium being removed they had recieved complaints that the nose cones were too flimsy. So possibly, due to H&S, a good colour match is not possible now. I'de give the parts dept a call and ask them their opinion on how good a colour match they think that can achieve. Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
It’s only some colours that are particularly affected, obviously yellow being one of them, (cadmium pigments typically be a family of yellow/orange/re shades). So obviously, other colours that use these as a component will be affected too. I believe some of the older, classic greens are an issue, for instance.
