Keeping myself busy. Caution....This thread may contain tanks.

Since I cannot go out as much as I would like and the garden is as good as it's going to get, the loft is tidy and I have nothing else to sell on Ebay I though I would resurrect an old hobby. A lot of you will have seen the new build which is rather obscure as its a 1/6th scale all metal tank.

So like a lot of people my age use to build models when they were younger and stopped when they discovered beer and women, later to regret at least one of them.

Iv'e made a few over the last few months and though as I'm bored I though I would bore you lot wit them, Sorry in advance.🙂

I also though about what Geoffrey said about sharing how I do it, its no secret as they are fairly standard modelling techniques, So Why not go large with the King Tiger.

I'm not going to bore you with how to trim the parts off the sprue or how to apply glue, I guess if you have a Wessie you are partly adept with some basic knowledge of following instructions and using the odd tool.(Stop sniggering at the back)

So after basic assembly leaving the tracks off and the odd small detail parts you get this.

No filler needed which I was happy about to to be fair Tamiya models are pretty good. For this one even though it will be painted Dunklegelb (dark yellow)I tried something that I have never done before and used black primer.

Followed by white primer on the centres of the panels.

Finally a top coat of the Dunklegelb. Its hard to make out in the picture but it modulates the colour so it doesn't look like one flat shade. It adds quite a nice depth to the finish.

Now for the fun bit of spraying the camo. Not sure why there is a dark band on the barrel, it's not quite like that in the flesh.😕

That's as far as Iv'e got at the moment as I'm working on it now but here one I made earlier.....Always wanted to say that..

Indeed they are. Some armour historians rate them as one of the greatest things to come from the war.
