Western Australia prepares for 'once-in-a-decade' storm.

"Australia's western coast is being battered by a huge storm, which is heading for the main city of Perth.

Torrential rains, strong winds and waves of up to eight metres (26ft) are forecast in some areas.

The severe weather is the result of the remnants of tropical cyclone Mangga interacting with a cold front, according to the Bureau of Meteorology."

 

It's over 7 years since I was last there and what with the covid crisis, international flying restrictions and my age/frailty it might be I am never able to return.

 

I enjoyed Perth and travelled up the west coast to Coral Bay (Ningaloo reef resort) eventually ending up in Kalgoorlie.

 

It was a great trip and if I can have my head transplanted onto a working body I might be able to return

I was there in 2002 DonPeffers and I agree it's a lovely part of the world - especially Margaret River region. We were visiting our daughter and partner on their circumnavigation of the country in a rattling old campervan.
