GaryD1971 Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Hi all. Would anyone happen to have a pair of the braided brake lines kicking around? The ones I have up front are too short and are rubbing on the wing stays when the steering is turned, so I guess I would need the same as the ones fitted to the rear if possible as they are about 2" longer. M16 calipers if that helps. Regards, Gary.
Glen_I Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Gary, I have a pair which I am replacing due to upgrading to widetrack, these were for M16 calipers. I can measure them tomorrow if you want to make sure they are suitable for you? Cheers, Glen
Glen_I Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Morning, Just measured them and they are 420mm from end to end. These were from Westfield when I built my one, so hopefully should do the trick?? Regards Glen
GaryD1971 Posted May 23, 2020 Author Posted May 23, 2020 Hi Glen. Unfortunately that is the same length as the ones I have at the minute. I think that my mounting point is different which leaves the standard length ones too short. I believe I need the ones that were supplied for the rear which are a bit longer. Thanks for coming back to me though. Much appreciated. Gary.
Glen_I Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Hi Gary, I dont have any pics my chassis is stripped and ready for powder coaters but my hose was routed underneath my cycle wing bracket where as yours is going over the top?
GaryD1971 Posted May 23, 2020 Author Posted May 23, 2020 I did try to route them under the wing stay initially, but that put a tight radius on the braiding which didn't look good. I could reroute the pipes from the bracket to the bodywork but this involves more pipework than I would rather tackle to be honest.
Glen_I Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 I can now see that your uprights and cycle wing brackets are different from what I have/had. It almost needs a 90 degree fitting to attach hose to caliper. Sorry I couldn't have been of any use! Good luck Glen
GaryD1971 Posted May 23, 2020 Author Posted May 23, 2020 A 90 degree fitting would be ideal to be honest. Thanks for your help though. Regards, Gary.
