AlexN
I've just bought my first Westfield of an existing WSCC member and cant wait to get it home. But can anyone recommend a transport company from Bolton to Bridgwater, Somerset? i have logged onto Shiply but have also been warned off the site - i'm not sure how the new rules around COVID would let me and a friend go and pick up the car ourselves. Gary Taylor
Hi Alex and welcome from a soggy Scotland. Congratulations on getting your westy and look forward to seeing pictures once you get her home. As far as I understand the rules it would be okay for you and a family member to go, as you are allowed to travel. But I’m up in Scotland and daft as it sounds we are under different rules to England If in any doubt pop into your local police station and ask them for guidance

By the rules you would only be able to go in a car with another person if they are household members, or you've got a huge vehicle where 2m spacing can be accommodated. If choosing a transport company, check them out carefully as Westfield ground clearance is quite low, especially over ridged beds. I found this out to my cost when my car was moved and they caught the underside pipework, they then referred to their terms which basically indemnified them against that sort of damage. Alan Cutler (Adge) - Dorset AO
Welcome to the “madhouse” . Bridgwater Tailer Centre hire out trailers: https://www.bridgwatertrailers.co.uk/rental Need tow car and appropriate licence obviously. Not sure how such a trip would be classified currently, as suggested, check with the authorities.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
On results so far, the Police appear to be the last ones aware of what the actual laws are!

Then is the westie drive home essential travel? Well yes because you have to get home and the punishment is to send you home =result. Worst case scenario could be you get stopped and face lockdown breach fine £100 but drops to £50 if paid within 14 days. Trailer hire £50 approx? There's bound to be a flaw in the above as I make mistakes all the time. Good luck Congratulations on getting your westie. Enjoy.
MrMajestic
I used Shipley no problems, but like with most things in life everyone will have good and bad examples they can share.
