DamperMan Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 I think it was last year or the year before, I changed a cv joint and boots on one side of the car.. this year they have already perished and torn.. Yet the other side with ancient ford ones still ok.. the new ones where JR items and cheap.. too cheep. Any recommendations for better ones. Quote
jeff oakley Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Firstline products are good quality. The problem is as the cars age the parts supply volume drops and the manufacturing gets farmed out to lesser quality producers and the quality drops. You can probably still get them from Ford, at a price Quote
Michael Whitworth Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 I have a 1994 SEIW with Sierra Diff and bolt on driveshafts. Does anyone have part nos for driveshaft CV boots? (inner and outer) Quote

corsechris Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 I can't speak to the longevity, but I was mighty impressed with the resilience of the material used on Bailcast rack boots. I used some to cover the UJs in the steering column and managed to get a 6mm hole over a bigger than 50mm square object...and it shrank back down to original size instantly too. https://www.bailcast.com/ProductCategory/index/2 (No connection, just impressed with the product). 1 Quote
