Dave_M
Hi just signed up to this forum, been looking around for a while, but thought it was time to join. I am in the process of building an MX5 SDV kit, using a 97 UK 1.8 as the donor. Not going to lie, I've had the kit a while, but due to work and family commitments, progress has been slow ;-( (well glacial) But now my kids are a bit older and willing to help out plus current lockdown situation, I have made good progress over the past few weeks. Anyway thought I would say Hi, before bugging you nice people for advice as I go through the build, Cheers Dave
IainCameron
Hi Dave, and welcome from sunny Shropshire. I'd suggest starting a Build Thread.... I'm also new to this car building lark, and I have an old kit, but the help and guidance from The WSCC Elders has been invaluable!

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Welcome Dave, glad you’ve managed to get stuck in to the build; as you may have gathered, we love pictures! And a whole build thread would be fabulous!! 👍
CarbonWest - Chris Broster - Bristol & Bath AO
Welcome aboard the good ship WSCC! Excuse some of the crew, they are a bit crusty, but they know their stuff! If in doubt shout out for help, and get in touch with your local Area Organiser who may be able to find a few local souls to advise/help/loan tools as you progress. Of course we also want to see loads of photos of every bit going on, coming off, going on, etc Enjoy the journey!

Dave_M
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!! I will get some photos online as soon as I can, and starting a build thread is a very good idea(stayed away from this as my progress has been glacial so far :-( ) In spite of the slow progress I have taken lots of photos, and just need to organise them, so a build thread will be a suitable medium. And nothing wrong with a bit of patina, my donor parts have been covered in the stuff Cheers
