I've got a set of Plays Kool ones coming for my narrow and plan to rivet them on for exactly this reason. I've wrestled tiger seal removing a body kit before (and then getting the residue off) and it's several hours of my life I will never get back.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 The Arch Protectors, are, or should be, a disposable item and shouldn't really be fitted in a permanent manor. If the car is used much, on average British roads, you will be horrified at how pitted and marked they end up in a short few years. BUT, they're saving your actual arches and bodywork. Making sure you can get them off without destroying the arch and tub beneath means at least you can either replace them when they get too bad, or whip them off, sand back and paint or whatever, should it become necessary.
Kit Car Electronics Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 I protect my arch protectors with 3M film. Where do you stop 😆 1
Mike424u Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Yes I agree tiger seal could be a step to far, as It would be very difficult and messy to remove at some later stage. Westfield did supply black pop rivets and some rubber edging strip. I think I will go with a combination, glue the rubber strip to the protectors, to make sure it stays in position and shape. Then either screw using black dome head hex, at the top and a few black rivets where its out of sight at the bottom edge. Couple of photos to see what I mean.

Mike424u Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 All done and dusted, no glue used, just a couple of pop rivets at the bottom and some counter sunk screws with bevel washers. so now fully removable with my arches if required. 1
Quinten Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 When cleaning the garage, I discovered an old tube of 3M carbon film with just enough for this: Quite pleased how they turned out! 1
