Hafod
Spent the afternoon trying to line up the standard Wesfield cycle wings, bending the brackets, tying different spacers but still not happy with the fit. I have Toyo R888r’s on the front 205/50 15s. I think the cycle wings are too narrow for these wider tyres. Plan to use big head fastners if I can get the cycle wings lined up correctly. I tried putting some spacers in between top of the frame and the underside of the cycle wings but this makes the wing look like the are the wrong diameter for 15inch wheels Does anyone have similar experiences and found a good solution? Hafod
Just read on another post the gap between the frame and sidewall of the tyre should be about the thickness of an old 50p - about 3mm. Would this be correct? I have about 10mm with the spacers I have so this would help
TableLeg
Have you got the right width cycle wings as I believe Westfield supply 2 different widths. I asked for width to suit 205's and when I fit my kit they had 205 written in the inside. Might be worth checking. I do believe the R888 is also a wide 205 compared to a regular tyre due to it's profile.
TAFKARM
Looks to me like the front stay needs bending down a bit, and the whole cycle wing needs rotating forward 10 - 15 degrees so the back edge is vertical.
NigelO
One of the aspects of my car that I really like is the way the cycle wings hug the tyres (admitedly only 195 profile though...) Its a bit of a pain getting the wheels off, but I can put up with a bit of hassle in exchange for the "close-fitting" look I'd like to switch to carbon wings one day, but I would have to be very sure that the shape and size was exactly the same

That doesn't look right, can I see a pic of how you've mounted the brackets to the upright? This shot is my Carbon effect plastic item. I've got foam on the brackets which space them off the wing slightly (3-5mm?)
