poltergeist666 Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 I have a Pre lit,Narrow Bodied SEi,running a 2 Ltr Fiat Twin Cam,on twin 40's,and want to increase the fuel capacity,as it is currently meagre to say the least.Could some kind soul, that's in the know, please suggest a possible solution. Is there a "off the shelf" tank that is available,or would I have to get somebody to fabricate a bespoke tank to fit. I just want something, that will give me a little bit more range.I'm pretty certain that the tank that's in there, comes off of a Mini Van - which is even smaller than a std Mini tank. Many thanks in advance. Jerry Quote
stu999 Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 The 'Mini van' tank is a popular fitment on early Westys, pre and post lit. It might be worth looking at later westfield tanks, but unfortunately the filler neck is unlikely to line up. Bespoke may be the only solution.... Quote

7SE Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 I have a standard Westfield SE alloy tank in my Pre-Lit. It was put in by Westfield but was modified to fit around the spare wheel carrier lugs. Alternatively do a google for 'plastic tank man', I've good comments Quote
chazpowerslide Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 The tank on my Pre-lit was the same as that in my SE. I'd talk to the factory first. I should think that the touring tank would fit as the SE and Pre-lit rear chassis appear to share the same dimensions. HTH Chaz. Quote
oioi Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 a guy called jb7 resolved this prolem by installing a second tank above the first. (in the boot space). two fuel gauges etc. not sure how switching from tank to tank was done tho possible solution. Quote
