Rob Hunter - Club Secretary Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 I'll be heading up to Ca**ington Water tomorrow morning for a 1030am meeting if anyone is sober enough 😂 A few of the Burton Car Club that attended the GBS open day will be there so should be a few nice motors to take a look around. Hopefully a nice way to start the New Year! Have a good one! 1 Quote

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Yep, see you there @RobH72. Michael is bringing the Ferrari out for us, he is coming with 3 cars and meeting another 3 there, so it should be entertaining. Postcode is DE6 1ST. Car park on the right is the quiet one, breakfast is served from 10am, yum, yum. Quote

Looks like my eldest is bringing his (rather filthy) Cooper S, plus my youngest and my stepson are also tagging along (after I've just mentioned breakfast 😂). I'm sure the run from there will be somewhat more pedestrian than I'm used to 😂😂 1 Quote
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary Posted January 1, 2020 Author Posted January 1, 2020 Met up with a few members of Burton Motor Club (including Michael in his lovely one off 288GTO replica) and convoyed to Ca**ington to meet @Julie Hall - Peak District AOand @Martyn Vann - Joint Warwickshire AOthis morning. Even managed to get 3 of my lads to come along, a frozen Lewis in the Westfield with me, with Joe and Jesse following in the warm in Joe's MINI. Extremely cold and misty on the way, so a pot of tea and breakfast was certainly needed! Amazing how hungry they all are when dad is paying 😂 Not many people out but great company and a good chat about all things car related, from Westfields to Mustangs. Then a fun blat down the lanes on the way home being chased by my son in his Cooper S... A symphonic duet of induction roar and supercharger whine 👍 Happy New Year indeed 😀 3 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 We arrived in good time and saved everyone a parking spot 😀 This car park over looks the water and the visitor centre/cafe, when it isn't misty that is. The other car park was filling up fast, nobody uses this one for some reason. I flagged down this Mustang and invitied him to park with us. He was from Uttoxeter and had only picked it up on 23rd December, what a Christmas present! He was dressed in shorts and was training for a triathlon which involves a run around the water (8 miles) followed by a bike around the water and a run around again to finish, I am tired just telling you about it. The tyres on it were Pilot Sport 4's. Michael and Kathy, leaders of the Burton Car Club, soon arrived with the convoy, which included plenty of Mustangs to the delight of this guy. Rob and chief photographer, Lewis With the rest of Rob's tribe in the Mini, well done to Lewis for decling a ride in a warm car and choosing dad's Westfield. The sun arrived with the convoy. I was car park attendant, Michael at one side of me and Rob at the other side, happy bunny. I would have reversed the Mustang for him if he had asked nicely The white Mustang had a private number plate GALLUP Large quantities of breakfast was consumed before we all went our separate ways. Martyn and Sue joined us for a brew later on. A nice morning meet but nothing quite hits the spot like a crazy Westfield day out, roll on Saturday, bbrrmm, bbrrmm. 4 Quote
