Shipping bodywork parts overseas

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Next year I want to start looking at some bodywork parts for a rebuild, specifically scuttle, bonnet and nosecone.

Has anyone on this forum ever shipped those parts overseas? If yes, what service did you use? Rough price?

Since I'm gonna be the buyer, I want to be prepared for a rapid shipment. Don't want to scare sellers away.

Thanks :)

Where overseas specifically are we talking about? USA and Canada etc will be very different to Europe.

Europe. I'm located in Italy atm so the same should apply to any EU country.

Parcelforce is what I use for overseas and i’ve Posted bodywork to Canada in the past. Plenty of bubble wrap and a double skinned corrugated box and it made it there fine.

Italy is zone8 so for their global value service it looks like £45-£60 to send a nose cone or similar from the UK.

I'm having a really hard time to find something reasonable. You're right for the nose, but getting an estimate for a scuttle or a bonnet seems impossible. No courier seems to accept stuff over 1m for one or 2 dimensions.

Any suggestion?

Thanks :)

You could try Paisley Freight https://www.paisleyfreight.com/

We sometime use these guys if we need to ship large car parts/panels within the UK, however I know they can do Europe too. Not sure on the prices overseas though.

P.S IIRC their limit is 1.6 meters long by 1.2 meters high..

I’m not quite sure why you’re having trouble. You can send up to 1.5m max with Parcelforce and a combined length and girth of 3m.

I've sent two bonnets with them now.
