That hard call

My weekend job has me working next to a Vets.

Its great seeing all the animals (mostly dogs) bouncing around and looning about.

However, its the saddest thing in the world when people walk out with empty pet carriers, or just toys.

It's just awful. Its makes me so sad, and these people are complete strangers to me 😞

My wife is a vet. She has always said that it's the worst part of the job. You only become a vet if you love animals, and want to do the absolute best for them. Sometimes unfortunately that is the best thing, as upsetting as it is. I can tell when she's had a bad day the moment she walks in through the door - it affects the vet too. We've got two dogs - one young, one old. I'm dreading the day coming, but enjoying every day of their company up until then.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

my wife is a head veterinary nurse, making the arrangements was easy, plenty of contacts, the vet came to our home, hell they even lit the candle back in the office  reception

We had a demonic cat once and she lived to great age and never stopped being able to chase off the odd dog. She had kidney failure and had to take that last journey, but she went out fighting and biting to the end. We missed her then and miss her now despite a series of other cats passing through our house. The one we have now has cardiomyopathy (congestive heart failure) and was given a few months in summer 2018. He's still around thanks to diuretics and blood thinners but we know he hasn't got too long. He's called Boris and is fair haired (furred), blue eyed, and barmy! Sound familiar?

We had a cat put down and the surgery sent us a card signed by them all.
