Hi all

im looking around at all these lovely Westfields and overwhelmed! I’m wanting a car mainly for road and odd track day, possibly a bit of touring. My thinking is a 2ltr ztec something like that. I’m looking around 10k I’ve seen one on auto trader it’s factory built.
my question is what’s the top things I should look for?

thank you

If you can make it, come over to the meeting this Tuesday at the Fox and Grapes on York Road, A64. I should be in my Westfield, and hopefully some more will be there. We might be able to give you some advice.

Go on condition and build quality, not age - I bought a 1999 factory-built with 13k miles in fantastic condition for £7500 (and £500 to see/bring it home from Nth Ireland) three years ago. If buying a pre-2000 car, I'd be looking for a wide-body with detachable rear fenders - makes life easier if you're unfortunate to have a fender bump.

Your 10k will buy a nice car, and maybe even one that's been warmed-up for some trackday outings. If you're also wanting to tour, a heater and a well-fitting hood is a big plus.

Seems to be a pretty standard car and with not many miles on it, the bodywork should have no cracks but only minor stone chips.  Worth a look I would say.

all i say is power is expensive so if you think you ll want more when you drive it think about is it enough?
