I remember talking to a circuit official, may have been at Teesside karting or Croft.. I was told they use "new" tyres for circuit barriers, and they have to be changed quite regularly before they go hard as nails. Have definitely seen tyre barriers at Croft possibly, made up of what looked to be brand new tyres with slashed sidewalls. I'm guessing factory rejects? Bit of uncertainty there I'm afraid. I did, Cheshire seems to have big issues when it comes to tyres and want's nothing to do with them. Quote
