Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Anyone know where I can get rid of three old tyres without getting charged a fortune, in the Congleton/Sandbach area? Dump won't take them, not allowed in skip I've hired, local tyre places want to charge more than normal as I'm not buying tyres at the same time! Certainly don't want to fly tip them, but don't want to store them for ever more, either. Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Facebook Marketplace. You would be surprised what people will have. Quote
IanD Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Not sure if it is normal in North Wales. But on a recent trip to Wrexham Waste Recycling (yeah I know its a glamours life), its on the Wrexham Industrial estate not far from Demon Tweeks, to my surprise they took them. None of my local places in Cheshire do though as you have also found. Ian Quote
Arm Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Mine went into one of the recycling places nr cheadle Quote
TAFKARM Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 What size are they? if they are remotely usable (ie hold pressure without the cords showing) drifters will take them on FB market place. The guys not these guys 5 Quote
DamperMan Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 This is all part of local government/ Council non joined up thinking. So if the Municipal "dump" don't accept then its more likely they are fly tipped...This costs a whole load more for some one to clear them up. In the Milton Keynes area there are 2 dumps, one takes them the other not. The "NOT" dump I've given up on completely as I have a Tiny small trailer and they don't allow me to take stuff in with that either. NO trailers allowed!. At work I have loads of old computer equipment and printers. The last time i checked it was going to cost about £1500 to dispose of. I'm not that desperate for space so.... It stays... Quote
BenD Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 maybe try taking them to a local track for barriers etc 1 Quote

John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 Most tyre fitting places stack them up outside. Just 'add' to the pile out of hours Quote
