stephenh Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Does anyone have a 30 mm. rubber plug surplus to their requirements? I have erected a 1.25" nominal aerial pole on which I plan to mount a solar panel (to charge the battery on my car) and I plan to run the wires from the panel to the controller down the inside of the pole, and to keep it weather proof inside (I have to make a connection in the cabling, which will be inside the pole) I would like to find a rubber plug which will be a tight fit in the top of the pole, with the wires going through the plug, and sealed. A standard old fashioned type bath plug is too big, about 40mm., so I'm looking for something smaller. Any ideas gratefully accepted!
jim_l Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Can you make one of these work, along with some sealant? Auto Silicone Hoses End Blanking Cap https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/193045080057 JIm

John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 If you measure the internal of the pole accurately I can make you a push fit nylon bung on my lathe although Tableleg's solution looks good to me
stephenh Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 I'm sorted now, thanks. Went to my local B&Q, this morning, and they had ferals, nominal 30mm. inside diameter (actually just over that) which will just push over the outside of the pipe, so ideal. Princely sum of £1.50 for 2 of them! 2
