"Are the Tories doomed to same fate as Canadian Conservative Party – destroyed in 10 years?"

"What is happening in the UK right now bears an astonishing resemblance to Canada in the Nineties, where the incumbent Conservative government were deeply unpopular.  This resulted in a devastating federal election in which the Progressive Conservatives went from having an overall majority – 169 seats – to just a measly two seats----- and would never be a major force in Canadian politics again."

With three Tory PMs in 4 years (Cameron, May and Johnson) and the Country in political limbo, if the Conservative Party does self-destruct it will be no-one's fault but their own---indeed some would welcome it.

What political force would replace it and would it be beneficial to the electorate?

Time will tell.

Probably depends on what happens at midnight on the 31st of October. I ignore most news in the August silly season and that report is from June.

Once Mrs May had tried and failed 3 times with her Withdrawal Agreement, then went on pointless tours of Europe (who didn't want to see her and had no intention of reopening the Deal) and UK, and then blamed MPs as enemies of the people in what was an extremely dangerous move considering the murder of Jo Cox, it began to dawn that the Tories had created a conundrum they seemed very unlikely to solve and may still be seeking a way out.

As you say, we'll see what happens in 73 days.

The damage is likely to be far deeper than just the Tory party, much of Parliament is severely tainted by this whole fiasco since the Brexit vote. Their credibility with the voters is at an all time low IMHO.
