Rory's Dad Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I'm needing new glasses and have a two-for-one offer available. I'm wondering about the second pair having 'Reaction' lenses ie the ones that get darker as the sun gets brighter. I'd wear these in the Westfield. Does anyone use these and are they any good? Looking forward to your advice. Thanks. Quote
Onliest Smeg David Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Interested in this too, as it would save the faf of swapping lenses in my current ones. Quote
neptune Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I have reactions. Great for every day use. Just beware they don't work in a tin top as the windscreen blocks the uv light which they rely on to go darker. They're fine in the westy without the roof on. Quote
Chrisn01 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I have two pairs now & cant fault them & can even drive a night with them :0) I got the transition xtractive though which do tint behind window screen & react real fast. Also if its any help, fashion eyeware are real cheap & you just ask for the xtractives on order notes :0) Quote

SootySport Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I have some industrial safety glasses for the Westfield. They are reaactive and I don’t need prescription lenses but they do make them at extra expense. They do react fast enough for me and are wrap around type so keep out the wind and bugs. Worth phoning around places like Bolle. Quote
SootySport Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 They look like this and the arms pullout are lengthened by clickstops Quote
Alan Cutler (Adge) - Dorset AO Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I wear specs. all day, I've had "reaction" lenses in my specs. for more years than I can remember. Wouldn't be without them. Over the years the speed of reaction has improved greatly, but still noticeable particularly going from bright to dark conditions. Find they're good when out in my Westie. My advice, give them a try, you can always go back to "normal" specs. if you find you can't get on with them. Quote
pistonbroke Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Used 'em for yonks , never had a problem with them not reacting in the tintop Quote
