Terry Chapple Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 I am looking to change both the front and rear springs and shock absorbers on my 1998 Seight. Can anyone advise on what would have been fitted originally and any recommendations on alternatives. Quote
TableLeg Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 I don't know the answer to this Terry but I suspect a call to Mark at Westfield would probably be the easiest way to get the info you need. 1 Quote
groucher Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Changed mine a few years ago now on my 1997 seight to protech aluminium ones, from spax, such an amazing difference. Although I did have to change the front springs to something heavier https://www.protechshocks.co.uk/products/westfield/ Currently the springs I have are:- rear - 175lbs front - 350lbs think originally the factory supplied 175/300lbs springs on my rolling chassis. Your choice really depends on price, I found the protechs to be good value for the price, sure other opinions will follow shortly. regards scott 1 Quote
Terry Chapple Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 Thank you Scott Some very useful information and liking the look of those Protech shocks I will certainly be considering them they are also bang on the price I was budgeting for. Regards Terry Quote
Labrat Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 I swapped to Protech as well. I can't remember what the springs are but I was guided by the Protech guys. Made a huge difference to the ride and handling. Luke. 1 Quote
Trevor Little (Trevturtle) - Treasurer Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Give Matt a call at Procomp (Birmingham). He's knowledgeable on Protechs fitted to Westfield and similar cars. I bought mine from Matt 1 Quote
