What a fighter and legend.

 

He could have been gone at age 27 yet made it to 70.

Are we allowed to have Super hero's when your nearly 70? cos' Niki was mine.

I got close to him a few times when i managed to sneak into the pits/paddock.

God bless you Niki and thanks for the memories.

Legend , watched him from his early days in  Formula 2 and later when he struggled to get  the BRM's competative . 

God knows how he survived that funeral pyre but he did and went on to be the world title leader only to quit at the final post when the championship was in the bag .

I always thought a measure of the man was how he handled the crash of one of his airliners.

 

ETA - To avoid confusion....he handled it personally, and with great honesty and integrity.
