Nemesis Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I've got my new Fuel Tank from Radtec and it looks stunning (I know.... there's a fetish for everyone).......... Now if BG Developments have finished my Calipers I might just get the All Original ASBO back on the road. Nem........... Quote
Jude - The Mad Widow Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 What capacity is your fuel tank? Quote

Some Tank Porn for the more discerning, showing the all new and improved 'Long Range' Fuel Tank, it's got thicker bits of plate where the penetrations & connections are. A new sender mounting point so no more of that silly messing about with the gasket sandwich. At my request protection panel tacked on to try to help protect the tank from the Nuggets at Pro-Tire and their windy spanner fitting of the spare wheel, yes there's now a tab welded on the new spare wheel carrier bracket where there wasn't one before, but I like the idea that it might help the tank bend rather than just drill holes if it happened again! There's an integral swirl pot type arrangement that the return line also goes to and some tighter baffles. Yes the fingerprints are all MINE, don't blame me if you're late for work today..... Have a lovely day ! Nem.... Quote
Jude - The Mad Widow Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Oooh, mine is really old... might have to squeeze underneath and have a look. At least I've stopped spraying my feet when I fill up now. Quote

Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 @Luke Algar at Plays Kool made me a new tank a few months ago. Perhaps he can help you Jude. Quote
Jude - The Mad Widow Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 How much does it cost approximately to fill yours up? I've actually got a plastic container onboard full of petrol. Hate it but the possibility of running out is stressful. I can get about £23 worth when empty Quote
6carjon Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 My seight had a similar tank and would eventually take 30 litres but mostly 20 litres with the filler from the rear of the bodywork could never accept a full fill without cutting out at the pump. A Jerry can forcing it in allowed 30 litres. I had a new tank made last year with a full rectangular shape with no cut out. This means filler moves from vertical on rear of bodywork to horizontal on top of boot box area. This allows easy fill from pumps and 38 litres capacity. It cost me new bodywork of course but now I can fill from the forecourt without splashing my feet as the Jerry can overflows... Quote

Mines a std (if there is such a thing) wide body zk tank. Quote
Jude - The Mad Widow Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Mines nearly 20 year old, narrow body . I'm only curious as I'm off to Switzerland next month and wondered how often I will have to stop! Quote
jimthedrummer Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Depends how heavy your right foot is, but you will probably struggle to to more than 80ish miles. Quote
Kingster Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Also depends what you mean by empty. Mine has maybe 6-8 litres in when the gauge say 0 as the sender bottoms out before it actually bottoms out! Quote
