Andrew Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Spent a great hour or so at the controls of a pals Flexwing yesterday. I've been a back seat passenger a few times but had always itched to get in the front with my hands on the control bar. I was a bit wobbly for the first half of the flight, but gradually got better. GoPro camera and Vbox data overlayed. My son edited the vid, so not my choice of music but I think it goes well.. better than a twin at a constant 4000rpm. 1 Quote

tolf Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Looks great and some fantastic views. I would be afraid of falling out though! Quote

I'll just read this post Chris and stick my fingers in my ears and say la la la to the rest. I love the experience. It's a bit like comparing a tin top to a Westy.. Flexwing is definitely the Westy of aviation. Have been in gliders, small planes etc, I don't intend to do it every day, just now and again.. hopefully beat the odds of anything unfortunate happening. Don't think hurtling around race tracks in a plastic bath tub is entirely without risks either. 1 Quote
Kingster Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 I flew my flexwing to the south of France from Northumberland. Then to Normandy the year later. So four channel crossings in all. That was something I’ll never forget and do not regret flying them for one second. Great fun and honestly they are relatively safe as they glide very easily. But aviation is very, very unforgiving if something doesn’t go to plan regardless of aircraft type. 2 Quote
