Mark Stanton Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Its not exactly a question of Lotus doesn't want to hire it out. Sadly there have been a few serious "moments" on the circuit, such that obtaining insurance and a suitable licence for track usage has proven to be "very difficult" Presently it seems only official test drivers are being allowed full use. From what I hear there may be some decisions made later as to what can or can't be done to improve safety. Quote
SteveD Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 i think they should put a 30 MPH limit on it Quote

windy Posted December 23, 2003 Author Posted December 23, 2003 All Hethel sprints are cancelled. Lotus doesn't want to hire out the track. Windy, doesn't your Uncle work there still? Ian, Where did you hear this from? I find it odd that they'd want to cancel an event which is run mostly for the benefit of its staff Quote
Mark Stanton Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 Windy - tis true Sprints and trackdays are currently no go at Hethel, but not because Lotus doesn't want to hire out circuit Its not exactly a question of Lotus doesn't want to hire it out. ian crocker Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 I heard it from one of the organisers of sprints there. I did not not know that there was an issue getting an MSA track licence and would be interested to know more about that. Did John Symes refuse the licence? Rgds, Ian Quote
Mark Stanton Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 I did not not know that there was an issue getting an MSA track licence I didn't specify MSA track licence sorry to sound so pedantic MSA licences are issued for competitive events Quote
