That is a lovely car. Sits well on those wheels . Was contemplating one before I built the Westie with the CSL style wheels too, but didn't want to get stuck in the BMW servicing and parts costs etc.

You need a good indie. Ours has sourced parts such as camshafts recovered from another car upgrading to Schrick versions. Saves a bomb. My lad had a camshaft follower failure that destroyed the shafts - it was a problem with S54 engines for a while apparently. If you're near Amersham anyone with a BMW, Phil Crouch is the man at CPC Performance.

Still makes we wince.

You might need a larger tin of this to get to the buffing stage on that !

Yeah didn’t buff out but stood up well. Got swiped off the road and flew into a cairn.

Went for somthing sensible like a Westy after that.

And a decent insurance payout I hope? When I have driven in the Highlands I have often thought that the rocky outcrops on the roadsides are the very definition of immovable objects.

Well another story I fear. The guy who hit me left the scene but lots of witnesses but no one got the plate and I was busy figuring out if I could move my legs! Insurance paid for a Westy, a daily and a holiday but it was MY insurance although ‘no fault’ recorded.
