stu999
Slightly O/T, but the split pin doesnt look to be doing much in that photo. I know it is a castellated nut, but is there not a cap to go on top of the nut for the split pin to locate in?
Mike-SEiW
Slightly O/T, but the split pin doesnt look to be doing much in that photo. I know it is a castellated nut, but is there not a cap to go on top of the nut for the split pin to locate in? Yes, that's right, I haven't done it up as I don't know how tight to tighten the nut. I can't see that it is specified in the manual and until I figure out how tight to make it, it's not completed. Anyway, just went out and measured. The bolts are between 0.3-0.5mm closer at their ends than near the hub. So I put on a nut and whacked them a little with the hammer ( )and now they're at least less pointed, even though a little. I got the wheel on and everything is fine and dandy: Plenty of space for the brake calipers: Also made new propshaft loops tonight before I left the firm (I will mount those tomorrow):
