The Cheese Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 is it just me doing something wrong here but every time I put spares on for sale nothing, end up going to ebay brake discs in perfect condition no response ,next advert brake discs pm sent don't get it from now on ebay will get all my bits Quote
KeithS Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Don't know how your ads were presented but generally stuff sells if it's priced right. Quote
GaryH Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Just right person, right time, right distance and possibility of club courier service. I've sold some bits and not sold others. I think it's the difference between a club site meeting a specific need and commercial site meeting a general need with a general trading agreement. Gary Quote
hammie Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Personally speaking i agree with GaryH. At the moment whilst im in tinkering mode i check the classified everyday and ebay. Looking at your post i dont think the bits are expensive but IMHO on eBay you have to put the postage prior to listing, maybe that has an effect. Ive been waiting for 2 days from a member to get a postage rate so i can decide if i will buy the item they came to me to sell after a query i posted on the start line. 1 Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 The right price and a good descrition always help. I've had a quick look at your advert and I afraid to say that the information is minimal. The advert title doesn't draw the potential buyers in by stating what parts are being sold and the description text gives very little detail about fitment (ie, what hubs/ brakes the discs are designed for, the diameter of the disc etc). It also doesn't say if they are anything special or just bog standard disc. I've also posted discs before and they are darned heavy and quite pricy to send. when you can buy brand new cortina discs for £20-£30 with free postage you have to think if your price for a used part which also does not include postage is comparable. TAFKARM Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 The market for used brake discs must be very very very small. Its like when @Quinten Uijldert - Northants AO was trying to sell some assembly grease... Quote

Terry Everall Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Ha Ha... I had a Pinto about 20 years ago so it will be out of warranty now 1 Quote
Thrustyjust Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 I have a pair of Cortina discs, I just swopped out and 2 k miles old. Its an item that no one really wants and justify the carriage for. If anyone wants them or the rear escort discs , then they can have them. Clear my clutter . Quote
