Hello!

Thought I'd join up to see what you bunch of reprobates are really like :d

I'm looking for my first Westy as I fancy trying something different on track. I currently have an E46 M3 track car but I have the open top itch so sit alongside my tintop.

I've met and spoken to a fair few Westfield/Mk/Caterham owners at track days so no doubt I've bumped in to a few of you before!

Welcome from Liverpool, there are a few on the Wirral (active member group there, meetings and days out) but not aware of any others actually in Liverpool.

Let me know if you want a good look around one, or a passenger ride. Jim

Hi i'm new to the forum too, i'm going to go to Oulton tomorrow to have a wander round. I went to see a car last night for sale in the classifieds, so it's given me good idea of what they are like regarding comfort and ride. I think this car in particular is very well set up for the road, and the condition of it is concours!

There are a bunch from the Wirral there tomorrow, am assuming you have seen that thread?

Thanks Jim, I hadn't seen that! I might see if I can pop over. I'm based in Leigh so right between Liverpool and Manchester if any owners are nearby I'd love to have a nose round a few cars.

Found a nice looking ZZR1400 down in Brighton but as I'm over 275 miles away there's no chance I can view it before buying! Does anyone know a reputable BEC builder close to Brighton that could undertake an inspection on my behalf? Or if any members live down there :D

Thanks!

Are there any North West BEC specialist garages? I'm struggling to find any within 1 hour of where I am, surely there's a good one in the North West?

Welcome!

They are pretty easy to work on, most stuff is a DIY. I'm up near Preston if you need any help.

The blue R1 car on eBay at the moment is a good one, I set it up and drove it recently.

Have you been out in a BEC yet?

Edit: in fact, I have some spare time this weekend and the car is only near Horwich, if you want to view it I'm happy to pop down for an hour. Ross (the owner) runs a restaurant so he might be busy, but worth giving him a ring!

Rare for me to head into North Liverpool but it might have been me, quite a bright blue, aeroscreen and silver minilights.  I did join the Wirral lads on their 'first Tuesday of the month' gathering a couple of years ago, good bunch, keep meaning to go again but haven't got around to it.

I have had it 11 years and done 8000 miles , so always contemplating selling it. Have to make a call in April, do more with it, or sell.

Edited to add - spent a pound on it for every mile I have done in it too!

Jim
