frubpato? Posted July 11, 2018 Author Posted July 11, 2018 Chris - that Momo looks exactly what I'm after - how did you attach it to the column? what adapter did you use (I'm guessing you have the std Allegro upper column ?) Thanks Quote

Thanks I used a weld on “slug” supplied by the people I got the boss from - Go Race. My column was custom made as it happens, but the principle is the same. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I use the same wheel, but with a bolt on quick release, this then uses a slimline mounting boss from Bolt on Bits, one of the Landrover specialists, to avoid moving the wheel too close to you. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RDX-SLIMLINE-Steering-Wheel-Boss-LandRover-Defender-48-spline-300Tdi-Td5-Tdci/361290273131?hash=item541e94116b:g:LcwAAOSwaZFbDTNV The QR https://b-gdirect.com/B-G Racing-steering-wheel-quick-release-system (Please ignore the buttons and wires, I’ve modified mine to include one of Mike’s FreeWHEEL radio steering wheel controls systems). SootySport Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Although a tad expensive, the replacement Column mentioned earlier is a quick and easy conversion. if you buy the boss, QR and required spacers the overall cost may end up the same. The suede wheels will degrade quickly unless you wear gloves so leather is the sensible solution. I have a 285mm suede flat bottom wheel and although is perfect for use on track, it is not ideal for the road so I will be going for the leather Team wheel soon. I may use both in the future, Smaller suede for the track and the leather Team wheel for the road. Quote
