Roll on summer and better days.

Mark Tearney
Almost finished my winter upgrades, Acquired a fully forged 1.8L Silvertop zetec with OJZ over bonnet exhaust system bought a new BGH Geartech E8 type 9 and a Quaife ATB diff. In Northampton motorsport today for a rolling road session and mapping to hopefully remove a flat spot and get it running to its full potential. Fingers crossed for some dry weather when I collect it tomorrow.

What numbers did you get at NMS and how does it drive, sounds like quite a package?

I've left it with them over night and won't be collecting it until tomorrow sometime, hoping they can achieve around 220bhp and decent torque and get rid of a flat spot just before it hits 5k..it really comes alive after 5 but I want it checked over before I give it any real stick. Not really had the weather so far this year to put it to the test properly so once the engine is sorted I'll book up a few track days after a trip to Bedford to get a noise test. Very pleased with the results, 210bhp (183 at the Wheels) and 154 lbft torque. Not bad from an old 1.8L Silvertop. Needed a new Fuel pressure regulator as the old unit was the cause of the poor running. Brilliant service from NMS and much less than I expected to pay out. The Westfield is now a new car, my first impression was pretty much F#$k me it's a weapon it just pulls and don't stop.
