Don’t know what you mean? MX-5… rust…

That was my first track car -  My second one was a rust free ‘99 NB - should have kept it really.

Looks like a top quality Donor to me...

It kinda was. My 2nd MX5 was purchased with a duff motor but near pristine bodywork (and a hard top). So I made 1 good car out of the 2 and scrapped the rusty leftovers 👍

after completing front & rear end upgrade to new Protech & Powerflex, wanted to have the geometry checked & set up to make sure I’m pointing in the right direction.
In stepped  @Maurici- CleaR Motorsport  Thank you Maurici for the service with the bonus of an A-Road drive thru Staffs/Shrop & Cheshire to test it on the way home - happy days 🤩🙏🫶🏼

Second trouble-free track day with my MNR Vortx Inboard CBR1000RR.

I'm starting to feel more confident in the car. Lots of impressions and comparisons to my track-spec Westfield Aerorace. Ideally, I’d love to drive both cars on the same track, on the same day, and compare lap times directly. Unfortunately, that’s not feasible at the moment, so my conclusions are based purely on driving impressions.

Here’s what I’ve noticed:
The MNR feels very planted—stable, composed, and smooth over bumps and curbs. It's also easier to control when the rear steps out, especially compared to the Westfield.

This time, I tested it on both semi-slicks (Yokohama A052) and full slicks.
I also felt noticeably less fatigued after a session in the MNR.

On a more somber note, I recently read that Marc Nordon, the creator of MNR cars, is now in hospice care. Really sad and unfortunate news : - (

What is that sticking up from the front left wing?

Is it so you can see where the wheel is approximately if you can't actually see the wheel from the drivers seat?

Now you'll tell me it was just a bit of track debris that got stuck and I'll have to hide from the embarrassment for a month 😂

In Westfield I can see both wheels. In MNR left front not.

I've got to say (not to brag or anything 🙂), but it actually works — and I’m really proud of this tuning!

Great idea that is! I'm so glad I invented it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Recently had a track day at Donington on the full circuit .. here's SWMBO taking her 82 year old dad out for a spin :)  20250717_142710.thumb.jpg.7c72bf16e44d0b7414ec21a4a1177eb0.jpg

Sat at home with the stopwatch I managed a fastest lap of 2min6secs which I don't think is too bad for an old man with no budget and even less talent :)

Ah, apologies — I genuinely had no idea this had already been developed! Looks like we stumbled upon the same solution independently — classic case of convergent evolution 😄 I imagine it's not just the MNR that could benefit, but pretty much any high-scuttle, pointed-nose kit car would gain from having a “sightline” like that. Great minds engineering in parallel, huh? 😉
