I confess I started to regret it a bit on the journey there as I thought I had forgotten to bring my gloves! The return was better as I found my gloves and my silly warm hat too, so was relatively warm, despite no roof or heater

 

Big shout out to @colin homewood who, even at 82, never lets anything get in the way of bringing his Westie!

Yeah one got me a few years ago, had I not been wearing a helmet I'm sure I'd have been temporarily blinded and may have crashed. When they explode boy do they explode!

Another 35 mile run out today. Engine running great again once I'd replaced the ignition leads and rebuilt the carb.

 

An excellent drive in lovely weather. Engine currently running like a Swiss watch.

 

The XI appears to have shrunk, and I haven't even been out in the rain yet 😅😎.

Isn't it amazing, we get so used to the size of our kits that we don't realise how small they are until we park in a normal car park next to normal cars. Same happened to me at AV8 Kemble/Cotswold Airport. I was quite shocked at how small the Flying Carrot looked!

I've also just realised that must be a narrow bodied Westie to the right of my orange SEiW? The difference in width is very obvious. First time I've ever noticed it though tbh.

I didn't realise there was such a large difference in width, but that photo shows it up well.

Thank you Steve. Yes, I'm really pleased with the engine sound (maybe a tad too loud though). It's crisp and very revvy, no doubt due partly to the TTV lightweight flywheel and also the Megajolt ignition map. I may fit a Ferrari style gear gate as selecting 1st, and changing from 3rd to 2nd can be a lottery due to my remote linkage setup.

 

I have lots of waving to do when out on a drive, and some people take photos as I drive past! Also many people smile at the 'fool in his toy car' 😅.

Not sure where you are, but drive though Bibury in peak tourist season and watch as 100 Japanese tourists all get their video cameras out and film you! Then spend months on YouTube trying to see if any of them have posted the vids 😂
