Kingster Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 So my diff is the last remaining part on my build that has not been replaced with new - and it’s leaking! The plan was to refurb and fit an ATB over winter, but as it needs seals doing now I might look at other options such as replacing with lsd now or swapping for another open diff and sending this one off for a refurb/upgrade. Anyone got anything?

They can order in the 23 degree helix angle recommended for lighter cars too. A couple of places like Bara and Road and race said all the bits were in stock so shouldn't take too long to sort.
Kingster Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Thanks Steve. Yes that was the plan, you can order the caterham spec ones online for £400 plus vat. However, I need a diff while it’s away being rebuilt also decision to make depending on how long it would take and cost of shipping and rebuild.
Steve (sdh2903) Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I have a 3.92 you'd be welcome to borrow but it's a bolt on sadly. A pain in the ass job to do twice though if you could do without the car for a week? Is that caterham spec one from burton or elsewhere?

I must have the car sorted by 9th June for a tour, so that's my problem. Maybe if there was someone local-ish who does diffs, but R&R transmissions are in Kent and Bara are in Worcester
Steve (sdh2903) Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Luke not help you with that? Or does he send them away? There's a couple of places local to me who could do it in a day if I take all the bearings and seals to them. I bet if you spoke to bara or r and r they could easy turn one round and back to you in a few days?
Steve (sdh2903) Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Ah they didn't have the 23 degree listed when I ordered mine.
Kingster Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Spoke to Luke - think I'll be good to get something sorted. Now where's that credit card... 2
Kingster Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 LSD here we go - soon I can leave a pair of black lines instead of just one....
Steve (sdh2903) Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Does Luke do them then? I have one to get swapped into a diff at some point.
